There are many online route finding services. These allow you to enter a location and a destination, and will then tell you how to get from one to the other. Often you can specify whether you prefer the quickest route, the shortest route or the simplest route. You can see your route on a map, or as a list of directions.
These systems can be combined with satellite navigation or devices that receive information about current traffic jams to provide a complete in-car navigation system.
