One complicated problem for people running a bus network is working out timetables. This has been done on computers since the sixties.
Recently the Swiss have been doing experiments using electronic cards instead of cash on their buses. These are known as "Smart tickets".
Leeds has been modernising its buses too. The new Leeds superbus is able to alter the timing of traffic lights as it approaches.
